Company car management service in Kilo, Espoo SmartFleet has achieved rapid growth in the industry through its exceptional openness. SmartFleet puts all car-related costs out to tender and makes them visible to the customer.
The company’s mission is to significantly reduce the cost of business car travel. Finnish companies pay too much for their cars, says Anton Hentinen, founder and CEO of SmartFleet.
“We help companies to understand where the costs of driving come from and propose more cost-effective contracts for them. We have often been able to reduce our clients’ costs by up to 20 percent,” says Hentinen.
Growing governance
SmartFleet, which has only been operating since 2019, manages thousands of company cars and machinery.
In 2023, the company reached a turnover of EUR 7.7 million. Hentinen expects both turnover and the number of cars in the fleet to more than double this year.
SmartFleet is an example of the changing needs of businesses. Companies and public organisations alike are looking for efficiency gains and often find them in cars.
“Governance is the bright spot in business car ownership, which is growing strongly. Even the biggest players in the sector have expressed interest in this activity,” he says.
SmartFleet reforms industry practices
There are many ways for a company to buy a car. Traditional leasing companies offer a full service for businesses. This involves pre-negotiating the financing and servicing of the car, for example. It is easy to buy, but often expensive for the customer.
SmartFleet, a non-partisan company, is reforming this model. It will tender all major car cost items on behalf of the customer and give the customer a view of them through a modern and transparent fleet management system.
Customers can experience security with SmartFleet because the company model separates the company’s own assets from the customer’s assets.
“Our system is automated, real-time and reliable,” says Hentinen.
